The landscapes of some of the greatest works of Piero della Francesca are real and can now be visited.

A few kilometres from the sea, at the borders between Marche and Romagna, some of the landscapes painted by Piero della Francesca (master of Italian Renaissance painting) have been identified and studied.

After years of research two "Landscape Hunters" found some balconies overlooking the fascinating views from the famous Renaissance paintings by Piero della Francesca.

You will live an extraordinary experience, you will be part of a huge work of art!

In the area of San Leo (RN) in the middle of Montefeltro, in the Valmarecchia, you can find the balconies on the first two landscapes identified.

The first balcony overlooks the landscape of the portrait of Battista Sforza, wife of Federico da Montefeltro admirably portrayed in the famous "Paired portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Urbino" (Florence, Uffizi Gallery). Next to it there is a second balcony on the sea (from St. Leo to the coast of Rimini) revealing the landscape at the background of the painting "St. Jerome and a Donor" (Venice, Accademia).

The third balcony is located in Urbania (PU), at Pieve del Colle: here the plains and the hills

reveal the landscape that Piero della Francesca painted at the background of "The Triumphs".
