Even if the name "Apecchio - City of Beer" could directly come from a fiction for many, it represents a name given to a real town devoted to craft beer.

Over the last few years Apecchio and its territory has become an important hub of beer production. Important craft breweries are located in the area. They use short chain products, barley and the purest spring water that flows down from the Apennines, to produce many different kinds of beer that are exported worldwide.

The local cuisine has a centuries-old tradition and is characterised by dishes made with truffles and mushrooms, it also has excellent dishes with lamb, veal and pork.

You will first stop in Apecchio to meet the owner of Tenute Collesi, visit the production of their numerous kinds of beer and taste them.

Tenute Collesi is a craft brewery based in Apecchio that represents at its best the beer vocation of the town.

Then you will get to another important local brewery in the Sassocorvaro area. La Cotta is a craft brewery that is well known for its exquisite products and big variety of craft beers. You will first enjoy a visit to the production and a tasting will follow. On this occasion you will have the possibility to buy their products at a special price.

The last craft breweries you will visit are  Birrificio Il Verziere,  located in Fermignano and Birrificio del Catria in Cantiano, where you will have the chance to taste other excellent local craft beers.

After the tour you will have dinner at the restaurant of La Cotta. It is popular in the area thanks to its generous dishes and their typical italian taste. On this occasion you will enjoy the typical Crostone al Metro.
